Suggestions for Great Mexican Food San Diego?

My boyfriend and I have finally decided on where we want to go for our vacation this year. We’re going to San Diego! We have a few friends out there who we haven’t seen in a couple of years, so we can see the sights and get to visit with them, so it’s a win win deal. We’ve already booked our hotel for the week and now, being the super planners we are, we’re looking into local restaurants. We both love to eat and are always looking for something different, so a lot of research into this very important topic is required. We’ve found a few fusion, Italian and Asian restaurants we want to try but we’re having trouble deciding on mexican food san diego. It’s not due to a lack of options, but more like we’re having trouble narrowing down our options. I’d love to hear some recommendations from someone who’s dined in a fabulous Mexican place there.
